Lack of Updates + Missing Camera = This

The camera has gone MIA since I’ve moved, so I will do a typed update instead. Build 1 is complete with movement and jumping fully implemented. Feels really good, nice and smooth, not to fast, already getting the Pitfall-esque flow going on. This weekend we are going to Underworld: Rise of the Lycans for some inspiration, and we’re going to be implementing ground and air combat as well as some preliminary chain mechanics. Even though everything is in pencil form right now, screenshots will be up soon.

Meanwhile I’ve continued my work on the design document. Last weekend I cut out 2 pages and wrote 9 for a net gain of 7, and the Enchantments system was cut today. This system was a series of relics which would enchant your sword with different elemental powers. Unfortunately, these powers were limited in terms of gameplay and did not enhance the core, so they’re out. The equipment system was also cut last week, so now leveling is strictly done via the Relics, which give permanent boosts to specific stats.

More updates later this weekend. I’ma see if I can find my camera in the meantime, and if not, hit up the last remnants of Circuit City on Sunday to get one for cheap.
